Béla Fleck with Brooklyn Rider

Just in case you aren’t familiar with Béla Fleck, there are some who say he’s the premier banjo player in the world.
Others claim that he has virtually reinvented the image and the sound of the banjo through a remarkable performing and recording career that has taken him all over the musical.
Béla Flecks’ total Grammy count is 15 Grammys won, and 30 nominations. He has been nominated in more different musical categories than anyone in Grammy history.
Fleck is joined by the game-changing string quartet Brooklyn Rider.
Compared to “motocross daredevils who never screw up a stunt,” Brooklyn Rider is known for offering eclectic repertoire in gripping performances that have attracted legions of fans and rave reviews from classical and rock critics alike.
In his own words
When asked about this unusual collaboration, Béla explained “I decided to write a piece for banjo and string quartet…[and] after doing my research on string quartets, a powerful tide pushed me towards Brooklyn Rider.”
“They play a lot of new music, and they were perfectly suited to interpret my mongrel composition Night Ride Over Water”, he continued. “The format of banjo with string quartet was so compelling that we decided to create a whole night of music and tour with it.”
The most Grammy-honored musician in history joins forces with a daredevil quartet for a truly electrifying evening!
