Fontana is thrilled to open the 2015 Summer Festival with Sleepy Man. Performing in the beautifully restored Kalamazoo Nature Center Barn, this trio of musical brothers – ages 18, 17, and 13 – burst onto the Americana roots music landscape with their own unique style of high-octane, youthful bluegrass.

Sleepy Man’s exuberant blend of instrumentation and vocal harmonies has been featured at The New Orleans Jazz Festival, Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry, and on The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

In their own words

When asked why the brothers became so enamored with acoustic roots music, 17 year-old Tommy Mizzone says “Probably because it’s so unique. There’s really not any other kind of music that is similar to it. We love the idea of writing and performing powerful songs all driven by the pureness of acoustic instruments.”

It is sure to be an exciting start to an exciting summer series!
